…The body was asked to knead, to make a terracotta cuirass the body got up the courage to make the terracotta components piece after piece. For the assemblage, he chose the red thread, the fìl rouge of the sufferings which restored, sutured and cicatrized its identity. He went back to such an ancient art in order to recover itself. Then the day came in which it felt ready to wear it. And the stills of the clothing prove that the body experienced the armour for the first lime, aware of the fact that it had lost its naivety. Now the cuirass lies on the floor. Federica's installation becomes "the new body", consisting of heterogeneous components that are complementary and Interactive. The body doesn't need to wear the cuirass any more but it keeps it inside itself. The imprints, the moulds of the body itself become the basin that peacefully receives, protects and saves. A game of altered layers that add up one to the other. The body learnt and assimilated a defence technique and can use it when needed. The icon Orna-mente represents the renewed body and the mind as enriched by this experience about defence…
