Ypnou Kalliopi ( Il sonno di Calliope )
An interpretation of the scene inspired by the symbols enclosed in the masterpieces of the great masters of painting, when they produced the triptych of altarpiece.
Handling and stacking up the film in black and white, merges the meticulous manual skill with the detailed elaboration of deep analogic technique.
Thus, interpreted as the mother of the ancient works, paper texts, manusc<x>ripts rich in precious verses already faded in the contemporary era, the muse Calliope, now fallen into a deep sleep, suspended in a dream space swallowing objects, trapping and guarding the spirit of each text, where is narrated.
Enveloped by the darkness of oblivion, precious texts are dissolving: ancient words disappear corroded by time, leaving blank pages. Calliope white and graceful as her feather, strokes in their sleep the minds of painters, artists and musicians, calling their inspiration to fill those pages again.
The silence of enchanted words, preserved in a letter, forever seals the romantic aura of a sleeping Calliope.
