Within my recent works, I have been attempting to draw unknown people found in old photographs. These are often Victorian portraits discovered in antique markets. The project explores ways of reconstructing the existence of non-living, unknown people through paintings and drawings. By closely examining memories of people whom we have never met before and the proof of their existence, my works aim to contemplate the meanings of human life and death, and attempt to show a hint of how we can live in this postmodern era.
