Nostalgia series

"Nostalgia" is an ongoing project started in 2007 until 2011. The word ‘Nostalgia’ refers to a sense of longing for a time past, requiring me to document the feelings of timelessness in things associated with my living environment. Jean Baudrilard says, “My pictures are not thematic, they are not very sophisticated and technical photographs.” My works reflect his sentiments closely as most of the pictures are snapshots of my surroundings taken in different places and at different times. They reveal my views, feelings and thoughts about the subjects. This series of photographs aims to arouse senses of Romanticism, Narratives and Urban Documentary all at once. All pictures were taken in 120 color film format with old Yashica Mat- 124G camera with a malfunctioned lens.
