Open meeting at 6pm on 18 May 2011 in the Aula Magna of the Accademia di Belle Arti of Bologna, with Mili Romano, lecturer in cultural anthropology, and Steven Music, founder of Celeste Network, discussing contemporary art networks.

Laura Bisotti, winner of Premio Iceberg in 2009 and Premio Celeste 2010, and Giorgia Boldrini, head of the Iceberg project for young artists in Bologna, will join in the discussion.

To what extent can virtual networks help in the creation of artwork and planning of artistic events, in view of the current situation in which public funds for cultural events are lacking? What are the advantages and limits of working in an art network? What sort of approach should arts professionals have towards networks? Can internet platforms be a place where projects and creative work are put in practice in the real world?
