Biography

Daniele De Luigi is an art curator and critic, particularly his work is in the field of photographic image. He's especially interested in contemporary photography and its development as an art form, with relation to its tradition, its social functions and the other visual arts. He's been working as a freelance with both public institutions and private galleries, curating exhibitions and commissioned art projects devoted to specific urban areas or territories.

In 2008 he was awarded in the first edition of a prize for young art curators and critics in the Emilia-Romagna region. He's been invited by the Fondazione Studio Marangoni school in Florence as adviser for students and lecturer. He's board member at Arteprima, non-profit cultural organization.
