ARTISTS CAN JOIN FREE ONLINE BY 30 SEPTEMBER –

click on ‘Join Project’

Celeste, The Invisible Dog and L-Magazine are promoting Brooklyn Open Studios, a day in which it will be possible to visit artists in their studios in Brooklyn, Bushwick, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Dumbo, Red Hook and Sunset Park.

BOS is a unique initiative which supports artists and puts them in direct contact with the public.

Two maps will be produced for the occasion; an interactive-map onsite Celeste Network, as well as traditional paper-map which will be distributed around Brooklyn. Both maps will identify the exact location of all studios, as well as 5 specially curated routes suggested by the following New York-based curators:

Nathalie Angles Founder/Director of Residency Unlimited

Emma Katz, Founder/Executive Director of Recession Art

Ani Katz, Founder/Art Director of Recession Art

Risa Shoup, Independent Curator

Benjamin Sutton, Arts Editor of L-Magazine

If you are an artist and have a studio in Brooklyn and surrounding districts you can participate by clicking on ‘Join Project’, by 30 September.
Send details of your studio address, and time of day you will be present in your studio on 12 November.

Brooklyn Open Studios will take place the day after Celeste Prize 2011 awards night at The Invisible Dog on 11 November. All participants are invited to a ‘Get-to-know Party’ on the 10 November near The Invisible Dog.
