Marc Bembekoff (1978), is currently director of the center d'art contemporain La Halle des bouchers of Vienne (Isere, France). In 2015 at the 56th Venice Biennale Marc curated the Pavilion of Croatia with the works of Damir Očko. He previously served as curator at Palais de Tokyo (2011-13) and Musée Rodin (2009-10), assistant curator at Frac Champagne-Ardenne (2007-09) and film assistant curator at Centre Pompidou (1999-2003). In 2004 he co-founded the collective Le Bureau / with which he curated several projects in France and Europe. Among exhibtions curated by Marc as an independent curator: Du monde clos à l'univers infini (Le Quartier, Quimper, 2012), The Mystery Spot (Fondation Ricard, Paris, 2012), and Sletto & Corso (with Julien Fronsacq, 20th Biennial of contemporary art of Sélestat). He has written monographs on Damir Očko Henrique Oliveira, Bettina Samson, Nicolas Boulard ..) and catalogues for institutions such as the Rodin Museum, Freud Museum, Palais de Tokyo, the Centre Pompidou-Metz ...). Since 2013, he’s been part of the artistic Board of Flag-France Foundation (Paris). He studied history and aesthetics of cinema and art history.
