Martin Germann is senior curator at S.M.A.K., the Municipal Museum of Contemporary Art in Ghent, Belgium, since autumn 2012. Recently he organised solo shows with a.o. Lee Kit, Michael Buthe, Lili Dujourie, Thomas Ruff, Jordan Wolfson and Rachel Harrison, as well as group presentations such as “Drawing. The Bottom Line.” Besides he invented an ongoing series of collection presentations, including, amongst others, a dynamic, one-year long exhibition around wall piece by Sol LeWitt. In earlier stages he was Curator at places such as Kestner Gesellschaft Hanover or the 4th Berlin Biennial for Contemporary Art, where he was running the Gagosian Gallery, Berlin. He has published numerous exhibition catalogues and monographies, his writing has appeared in international magazines such as 032c or Frieze.
