Although there is a general satisfaction among visitors, I am personally a little puzzled about what is going on. I will try to explain.. Undoubtedly there is more painting and less photography this year, to which an art critic exclaims "thank goodness! Finally we don't have to watch that fake art called Marina Abramovic." I wait for him to finish...and remain silent, being a person brought up in the performer's school of thought.
I note from a distance the booth "Cultural Park Farm," I enter and read "jesus is coming be generous," it might be conceptually good, but only for two seconds. Hoping there was something within of substance, I check, but then exit the booth in record time, perplexed and bewildered by marketing ploys placed alongside art which I do not appreciate.
Finally I begin to see the 'light' when I find myself in front of the beauty of photographs by Tania Brassesco and Lazlo Passi Norberto, such as 'Nude Veritas', enchanted and in wonder at the elegance of this work. I am delighted to see large works by Robert Kusterle, with their soft chiaro-scuro, excellent greys, and subjects full of gentle charm. Carla Bedini's paintings excited me most: immense, powerful and strong enough to literally block me for 5 minutes infront of each work. Setting aside Bedini's supremacy, I watch the standby state of subjects painted by Monica Castanys, how wonderful is the fullness and color of the figure's back, that speaks more than any look ever could. Other artists such as Domenico Granci, Luigi Ontani, Giovanni Motta, J&peg, Galimberti, Margherita Martinelli lock my gaze for more than 2 minutes. I walk towards the exit with a bittersweet taste in my mouth (and eyes), at the same time full of art and free of superflous thoughts.
And I ask you:
Does the old rivalry between painting and photography still exist? Or does being contemporary today confirm art's eclecticism?
Let me know.

Chi non conosce passato e presente non può intuire un futuro per l'arte.
Grazie del tuo punto di vista Marco!
