Painting is a hollow shaft.

Painting is a hollow shaft. It 'a tightrope between the earth and the sky. It 'a moment of hypnotic trance. In prehistoric times, the shaman and the creative were the same person. Clairvoyance is a journey into no man's land.
Painting is a wager, an act of growth because of awareness. There are white spaces as ever spoken words and silences "talking", soft colors like little whispered phrases, little thoughts just mentioned, sketches of smiles, tears that remain attached to the eyelashes. The color has some strong jolts to the light, it becomes more and more decided when the light (consciousness) makes it vibrate.
In painting you are confronted with their emotions on a symbolic level, there are withheld emotions, delicate emotions, and growing, overbearing emotions, rousing emotions, emotions devastating, destructive emotions. How to handle them? Let them go? and to what extent? and in which direction?
Painting means detach itself entering a "neutral" territory, of, discovery journey. It means accepting to capitalize from their mistakes, to start over. It deletes a lot during the realization of a work. Delete the "wrong" Painting is an act of courage and growth. You have to be honest. Without honesty, you do not get anywhere in a serious work, cunning does not pay. My professor of painting told me that the act of deleting is the first step towards the great painting. As in every trip worthy of respect, there is the initial moment, the discovery of the virgin canvas, unknown territory but cozy, where everything is possible ... I spend much time stroking the canvas, like a harp. The white canvas is beautiful, smells good, and the plaster that forms the first layer is familiar and reassuring.
Then we enter, full of vitality, unaware of the pitfalls, it is the most beautiful moment. The pencil or brush trace imaginary lines, sketchy with rapid signs, like watching the horizon and dream about future goals. No matter which should represent a tropical beach or a quarter of the kitchen table, it is always a journey into unknown territory.
As with any journey, the beginning are assumed feasible paths. But come the difficulties and setbacks, technical problems, and difficult to resolve symbolic. The hardest moment is in the middle of the work. It 'important to stop, the road is long, we need to understand where to go. Where you have to insist, dig, pull out, or bury. Where you can apply an invention. And where it may be deception.
Painting is a succession of problems to solve.
All the creativity is based on "problems" to be solved, only that the problems are not real, are imaginary.
At some point, right in the hardest moments, it comes the troubleshooting, and the work order. In fact the work never ends, but there comes a time when you have to take an unlimited time leave of their own creation. That moment arrives, when the problems were resolved and the picture is how we wanted it at first, or different from how we wanted it, but it makes us feel satisfied.
Then you can still linger a bit 'on the work already "finished", with minor adjustments, more to his satisfaction (vanity) that for real needs. Paint can also be a lot of fun, when you are masters of painting and you can afford to joke with the images.
The design is the skeleton that holds the color scaffold, liken it to reason, to logos, to the word, to dialectics. Color is the emotional world.
The painting has a strong smell of solvents and oil, is a very material form, almost prehistoric, definitely child, gets on when you paint, just as there is "dirty" when we get excited (and this is why many choose to freeze their emotions). But the structure of the painting is not only prehistoric, is also historical, is made of dialectics; of tonal relationships, light and dark, of plans that advance and others receding, and more.
To say that a painter wakes up and starts to paint as well "as is" taken by the impulses of the moment, it is a solemn idiot. In Leonardo's time, a painter was also a mathematician and, although times have changed, it is still necessary to paint, first of all, think. I could say many things still on the painting, as a journey, like meditation, like life. But I prefer to paint them!
