"On the Way to the Big Woods ..." is a work of painting performed by students of the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, for kindergarten Rainbow Venturina Terme, Campiglia M.ma (LI).
The project of upgrading the exterior facades of the school was created by the joint request of the school and of the City of Campiglia M.ma to remedy the state of degradation of the facades of the building, hit by repeated acts of vandalism that over time have deface the brick facing. The agreement enabled for years by the City Council, the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence and the Institute Comprehensive "G. Marconi" Avventurina, which saw the birth of several projects and works in the town, gave great feedback and results really positive. The work realized in fact continues the project begun in 2012 with the creation of the mural entitled "In The Big Woods."
The mural silicate, which took five weeks of work, spread over three walls with a total area of 170 square meters and was carried out under the coordination of Prof. Calogero Vinciguerra, assisted by the Mariaconcetta Giuntini. The students of the painting have also performed the preparation of the substrate together with the artist Daniel Magnani.
The project has been designed in such a way that the lower part of the work was done with the pupils of the elementary classes III and V of the Comprehensive averages G. Marconi and School Altobelli (who had previously done workshops in the classroom) materializing a 'authentic teaching of art.
