Scenography, contemporary art and scenic space: all this in a single lesson held in the Aula Magna of the University of Bari by internationally renowned scenographer Pier Paolo Bisleri. Graduated in set design and costume at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence his work has gone more and more towards the search for an 'emotional space' that allows him to isolate and deepen the characters, the dramatic situations and the music throughout the fullness of their meaning. His work has allowed him to collaborate with distinguished directors in the most famous theaters of Italy and beyond. The meeting organized by the association "Ex students Academy of Fine Arts in Bari" has captured the attention of a large number of students but also of many teachers."From September '75 until today I have not left the theater", so Bisleri begins to speak to the audience. Remains the experiences of his long artistic career, mentally flows the imprinting of his life until the projection of some of his productions. Presenting him at the beginning of the conference was Prof. Arriving as well as set designer and professor in numerous Academies of Italy. "The scenography is nothing but an extraordinary language. The scene writing is another story, different from the original text "... Bisleri knows this well because over the years he has seen the stage not only in front but also behind the scenes and starting from the texts of the works to be represented he gave they have a new story, a different input, in other words, new words. An unmissable lesson where contemporary art lends itself to the creation of new scenarios for famous dramas of classical theater. Bisleri also does this with the Shakespearean drama "Romeo and Juliet". The two lovers are two Roma municipalities and it is the road to be taken to the theater through the meticulously designed setting. This is how Romeo and Juliet are embodied in real characters. Bisleri gives them a new, innovative and alternative space like that of a Roma camp. He painstakingly studies the details, the costumes, asphalts the scene. Shakespeare does not die in time, the great works are immortal and for this they can be renewed from the inside in a different key. Bisleri has always been a promoter of a new and innovative theater, adhering to the "theater of poetry", a phase of artistic research that develops the experience gained over time. As director of stage set-ups he has participated in over two hundred performances between prose and lyric and in the classrooms of the University he radiated his way of making theater and then making art while on the projector did not stop running the best sets of illustrious works that made the tour in the theaters of the world! If the prose leaves ample room for innovation and cutting edge is not less lyric ... Bisleri has illustrated the set design for the work "Iris", an example of how even in the lyric there can be inventive. A morning full of art and after a brief final debate the meeting ended with long ovations. The association "Ex students Academy of Fine Arts of Bari" thanked all those who were present at the conference.
