The Dazio Art Cafè will be supervised by the Brera Academy of Fine Art for an entire year. It will propose a series of exhibitions named FuoriBrera to open the Academy of Fine Art to the city of Milan and its citizen. The first episode: FuoriBrera#1, inaugurated during the Milan Photo Week, is focused on the relationship between photography and sculpture. This exhibition is the final result of an annual educational project, where the students of the Master of Visual Cultures and Curatorial Practice compared themsel-ves with the students of the Master of Sculptures and Photography, through the help of the teachers. The aim was to develop an “aesthetic exercise” to be critics with the artworks that they have been seen, to compare methods and knowledge confined in little disciplinary sector and to give to the concept of “laboratory”, essence of the Academy, the possibility to cross over the class to a wide space, that is diagonal to the theoretical and practical view of the disciplines themselves. In conclusion, it was decided to organize a final exhibition, curated by the students themselves whom selected the artworks of the artists, organized the set-up and the communication.Hence, FuoriBrera#1 becomes an occasion of learning, free from the concept of the school, opened to the city, as a first step of our scholars toward the contemporary art.
