BODY OUT
Exhibitions, Italy, Padova, 19 July 2019
"Vecchiato denies the two “codes” of narration and figuration, in fact his act is a sort of
rebellion: the story is buried and the figure had funeral.
The figures are raised from their representative role and thus come into direct contact
with an order of sensation. Slightly, they are barely perceptible, they emerge from a
shapeless and indefinite amalgam. All the tension and effort is put in to eliminate any
kind of "show".
The code wants to make up a story between the two figures, to animate the whole of the
painting. A perfect way to break up the representation, to prevent its narration and to free its figure is to isolate it. Let it be free from life." Barbara Codogno
