The earthquake that devastated the city of Aquila, has imposed a human reflection and criticism, aimed at encouraging artists to investigate the earthquake as a phenomenon of multi-sensory and emotional: have responded to the invitation of the call 123 artists submitting works made with different techniques according to the four sections of the Award (painting, sculpture, photography and video) and between them a jury, chaired by the art historian Christina Aglietti, has selected 51 winners and 5, all presented in this exhibition through a fascinating, sometimes painful, but rich in ideas.
They are works of authors who have experienced first hand the earthquake but also of those who have "heard" through multiple channels of information: paintings, prints, sculptures, multimedia installations, photographs and videos tell the tragic event from various angles that 6 April 2009 made landfall over the city of L'Aquila and its area.
With this event we wanted to entrust the delicate task of Visual Arts to witness the human history and criticism of a grieving community through the most effective form of communication - culture - does not want to forget but try to regain their identity.
It is in cases like these that the art achieves its most intimate and sublime goal: for who creates a communication vehicle is critical and emotional, for those who use an instrument of reflection.
This third edition of Premiosinestesie, created by the will of the association and editor with the cooperation of private entities, was inaugurated in L'Aquila in June of 2010 at the Conservatory of Music "A. Box "where they were awarded the prizes to the winners and presented the catalog works: This event is one of many expressions that Aquila, traveling to cities, is testimony not only of the drama of an entire city, but also the great need for social reconstruction and cultural needs and becomes more and more need for everyone.
