The homa element

What's new today? All. Observe the world with a different look every day, bring their experience on the canvas grasp the harmony and the discrepancy between natural and artificial elements, these were the first impressions I got in front of the works by Andrea Ciresola. Paintings showing landscapes strongly humanized, it is clear a taste in picking the artificial object that invades the environment, but at the same time, seems to integrate with it. It is, simply put, a human landscape, sometimes alive, certainly lived, that tells you your time and opens to a narrative towards the future. Painting Ciresola fact is acutely aware of classical painting, its characteristics, its particularities and uses coating them with new meanings and making them meet with the objects of his time. Noting, however, the work of Andrea seems to me that the focus of his research is the human being, rarely present in his paintings and always in a situation of the second floor, was propelled into them just for the representation of the artist ago his intervention in the environment, building a pictorial narrative that leads the eye first sull'artificialità. The artificiality is probably the essential point to tell what the man has achieved in its history. A social process that led him to intervene on the planet changing it and trying to shape it to their needs. An artifact that looks so complex and multifaceted, and for the negative influences that this process has led to both the positive we can find the meaning of the word expresses all the complexity of the concept: a work of art. And it is artfully that Ciresola realized his works projecting his vision to the outside with its landscapes that tell gates, fountains, irrigation systems, but also to the inside, as in the series "Portrait of an extension, which depicts the path along the stairwell of a building. A dual path that also tells the human being and his constant voltage to open outside and withdraw into himself and is also the artist's living in this constant dichotomy between the show and the closing in his thought. It is from this capacity that man has to shape their environment, comes the title La Homa element: three words that in esperanto means "the human element". A choice, that of Esperanto, which is not accidental, because the characteristic of this language to be made and to point to the universal, in a search for peace and brotherhood but never actually realized.

Reflecting on the artistic career of Andrea Ciresola, finally, it seems that the clue stronger pass himself: when he gave me his notes, among these I found these few lines that are the perfect synthesis of his view life and art, to describe himself.

"Born in the city, I live in the country
work on the old, I love the contemporary
I look at the leaves, I see children

when I open the window every morning and I scan the horizon of everyday homes, sidewalks, asphalt hills and I wonder: what's new today? It houses, sidewalks, and asphalt hills I say all 'unison: everything! "
