DUE (two) is the title of the exhibition that marks a new appointment to the Spazio Cannatella. Two years have witnessed the birth and growth of this new reality, and this pretext easy, with the simplicity that has always characterized the work of Spazio Cannatella was born the concept of this group. 15 artists through a thematic, analyze ideas and concepts, and work on what can be linked to a duality, the double, ambiguous. Contradictions, duplications and divisions, changes of identity. An 'identity which is always somehow double, because it consists in an ongoing integration and alienation, identification and differentiation. Ambiguity inherent in the art, the contradictions of the image and its representation, the two dimensions that create magic.

The double captures the essence of who we are. Our only source has a double existence, I am my father and my mother. One is a utopia, and if in an intrinsic duality, we are one but divided in two. The ego, the conscious part, which contains the thought and makes us act in a conscious way, and the Id, the unconscious, which contains the instincts, feelings, impulses.
Then there is the 'I and the' Other. The vision I have of myself, and the vision that others have of me, which is the mirror image of the stranger that Pirandello describes as "inseparable from though."
The concept of the double, and the thought that two principles you can 'take a deeper reality, has always stimulated the artists, the fathers of philosophy and literature and cinema have come out masterpieces.
The identity and its possible alterations, the self and its doubling, halving the double but also accompanied by a perpetual ambiguity.
Two can be moods, elements, emotions, which are combined, or oppose, but also contradict each other .. As in the philosophy of Yin and Yang, which states in each of the opposites there is a part of the other. Forces, but complementary ..

"In front of the lens I am at the same time: what I believe to be, what I would like you believe me to be, what the photographer thinks I am, and what he uses to make a show of his art"
(R. Barthes)
