PRESS RELEASE
Open Art Milano is pleased to present "MUTANDO RIPOSA", a solo exhibition of Marco Bettio.
Please join us on Wednesday September 25, from 6:30 p.m., for the exhibition opening and to meet the artist.
Curated by Tatiana Martyanova, the solo show by Marco Bettio wants to tell a story through the enigmatic paintings. The meaning of this story depends on the viewer, who should read the symbols inside the Bettio's landscapes suspended in time, between heaven and earth. The exhibition "MUTANDO RIPOSA" is composed of works of small, medium and large sizes from the "LANDSCAPE'S FRAME" series - a reflection on the painting starting with landscape, which the artist has been working on since 2008.
Moreover, some new site-specific works have been realized by the artist for a peculiarity in the appearance of outdoor space of the gallery Open Art Milano that is formed by external shop windows.
"The medium I used (a mixture of linseed oil, turpentine and paint) and my modus operandi create textures that change slowly leaking for more than two days creating images that are impossible to be controlled completely. The fruit is always a surprising result of a gamble", says the artist.
With the title "MUTANDO RIPOSA" ("IN CHANGE IS REST"), a famous fragment of Heraclitus, Martyanova highlights the contradictory and at the same time harmonic nature of the art-works of Bettio. "The mutation is nothing but a transition from one state to another that does not change the substance of things. In this sense, heaven and earth are not separate but share the same eternal change of things over time, the same desire for eternity in the flow of time", wrote Francesco Correggia in his text.
The exhibition will continue until Thursday October 31, 2013.
