You have until April 29, 2013 to register for two workshops with the artists and collectives in Milan otolab dotdotdot, organized by the Toolkit Festival in collaboration with A plus A Slovenian Exhibition Centre in Venice, to be held on 9, 10 and 11 May 2013 at the facilities of the Workshop Rafts in Venice, within the rich program of the Venice festival dedicated to interactive art and conceived by Martin Romeo
The teaching of the Toolkit Festival which, since its first edition, offers a careful and thorough mapping of more contemporary research of interactive art, this year it also extends thanks to the synergy with the Ca 'Foscari Digital Week, an initiative dedicated the impact of digital innovations on society, economy and culture (Venice, 8, 9 and 10 May 2013.
The two workshops, both in number of participants, want to be an important training opportunity and a moment of unique educational exchange within the program of the Festival Toolkit. The interested public will have the opportunity to work closely with the artists and get to know their business, contributing first to the construction of interactive artwork that will be exhibited the May 11, 2013 at the same venue of the Workshop of the rafts.
Otolab is a cultural association in Milan, made up of musicians, DJs, VJs, video artists, film makers, web designers, graphic designers and architects, that since 2001 produces live media, audio and audiovisual projects, installations, seminars and workshops in music electronic and audiovisual research. The projects of the collective use languages R03;R03;ranging from experimental to techno, dub and industrial sounds, always looking for a symbiotic relationship with the image and video. The main purpose of the workshop will explore the unexpected and interesting potential of the software Ableton Live! in the production of sound and video clips. During this full immersion of three days the participants will carry out a real live performance starting from the analysis of Bleeding performance otolab who participated in the Kontraste Festival of Krems in Austria and Visionsonic of Paris.
Dotdotdot, a group founded in 2004, triggers contamination between art, architecture, construction and design with new technologies and new media, to reach the border between performance, exploration and event, always characterized by a strong bond with the surrounding space.
During the workshop, Interactive Urban Spaces will be processed an experimental eco-neighborhood where innovative ideas and the search for sustainability are needed to rethink, transform and regenerate, through research, experimentation and innovation digital public space. The actions proposed by the students reflect on the relationship between the city and the inhabitants of his sestrieri through the use of a specific software for the realization of interactive installations.
The workshops are part of the program within the Ca' Foscari Digital Week, which devotes a series of events (roundtables, workshops, collateral) to the themes of art, lifestyle and digital humanities.
