An invitation to a journey through China through the eyes and lens of a young Belgian photographer (AURORE MARTIGNONI), this exhibition illustrates various traditions of masks, shadows, and puppets. These photos dialogue with the Museum collections; photographs and objects complement, illustrate, and explain each other. Ancient and more modern masks clash with images of the China of today where, since the dawn of time, opera and shadow actors have played.
