The Art Gallery of Cassano delle Murgia renews its appointment with the art with a new exhibit, "Stay sharp" artist Antonio Giannini.
"Vintage cars, books, television tubes, suitcases, old drawers and new dreams inhabit the biography and the production of an author who piles and stuck - in bold and provisional architectures - goods and souvenirs, fetishes and introjection, in a continuous stream, almost cinematic. This, too, vaguely vintage ".
Thus the sociologist Maurizio Brunialti describes the works of the Giannini as layers of signs and symbols all readable: they can simultaneously speak to each of us, who we are now and who we were and to defer to existing dimensions and phenomena dramatically, so ingrained in the local traditions as characteristic of the social systems of the global era.
"The message of instability that Giannini is often in his works suggesting the precariousness and the difficult time that our society is going through and the habit to use a glass case in which it supersedes, the patron saint, books, toys, household appliances , old cars, vintage motorcycles ... a series of personal effects that the artist holds under the bell "are the elements that have led to the curator, Massimo Nardi, to think and propose the title of the exhibition.
Antonio Giannini, born in 1980, lives and works in Laterza. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari, he embarked on his personal artistic research on the study of the object to the use of landing very thin canvas and concentrating his attention on the suitcase.
His artistic career has numerous collaborations (in 2008, participates in the work of restoration of the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari), and personal and collective exhibitions: recommended by the Jury Prize at the time (2014), a finalist for the Prix Arte Mondadori (2014), winner of the section installation of the Biennale "Rocco Dicillo" (2014).
