L 'Unesco Cassano, on the occasion of the International Year of the light promotes contemporary art exhibition "Create with light" which opens Oct. 10, 2015 at 18:00 at Palace-Miani Perotti - Cassano in the Municipal Art Gallery. The International Year of Light and technologies based on light (IYL 2015) is a global initiative adopted by the United Nations with UNESCO as lead agency (A / RES / 68/221) to raise awareness of the central role of light in the modern world and how optical technologies can promote sustainable development and provide solutions to global challenges, for example in the fields of energy, education, communications, art, health and agriculture.
The Unesco Club Cassano has chosen to organize the exhibition "Creating the Light" under the theme "Art and Culture" to promote greater public understanding of the central role of light in the modern world, to show different forms of use of the same in the artistic and cultural heritage and to stimulate the creativity .The light is a fundamental aspect in culture and art being one of the ways in which we establish relations with the outside world and we represent; The exhibition invites you to look at the art with new awareness to accept its suggestions and provocations, do not be intimidated by his antics or his apparent silence.
Always in art we find the key role of light and its appropriate use and meaningful in the visual language, be it pictorial sculptural, architectural, gestural. Always light "plays" with things, invests them, caresses, the runs, the lights, turn off the ... The modern technological possibilities then allow artists to use light in new and creative ways.
