Hyeròs - Sacred Art

The aim of this exhibition, also to start up Cascella Prize 2011, is to celebrate the holiest time of the year for almost all religions, revaluing the close connection between language arts and sacred language.

We often wonder what is the direction of contemporary art, and even more often it is clear that the desire for fame and glory now immediate distracts the artist from his spiritual evolution, capable of dragging it to an art only to the provocation, the feeling easy, we are convinced that the only provocation is trans-gression, or that exceed the threshold that brings us closer to understanding, the sacred mystery of the artist you psychopomp.
But the reality is that the sacred mystery of the artist is the interpreter and medium, has now turned in the artist himself, thus losing its original and pure strength. The artist, believing God, refused to talk with God

The rebirth of light, if we draw a parallel with the Christmas season is still far away: on contemporary weighs almost everywhere a cold winter.
But there are encouraging signs coming.
Many artists, individually or collectively, individually they are rediscovering the taste of the metaphysical and spiritual research.
It is slowly making its way to the awareness and desire to regain possession of language, symbols and stories.

Formerly, he was the artist's ability to convey the divine breath. Art is born in symbiosis with human language, in a historical period where our ancestors of the sacred permeated every moment of their existence.
Art is created along with the graves of their ancestors, came to the temples.
Every day was worthy of thanks to the gods, divine providence, the fertility of Mother Earth. What better gift of offering beauty?
And here in the eternal cycle, perhaps at the time of maximum moral disintegration are gathered here and there signs of a new humility, the need to find answers to the great mysteries, or even the simple need to celebrate the mysteries themselves.

The sacred is the great mystery of the human being besides irrepressible need.
That is expressed through love, sacrifice, celebration, joy, pain, it should not ever miss the balance of man, which is necessary as bread and water for survival.
Hence this artistic journey, this exploration that will allow visitors to contemplate the concept of the sacred from multiple angles.

From the origins of the sacred, where the man was trying to lock up the inside of small idols, to bring poterseli below in migration, exploration and comparison of the sacred with the profane, culminating in the most high the sacred, which is the passion and the ability to sacrifice themselves, until the circle of life that celebrates beauty in the most ancient sacred mystery.

To restore and reaffirm the sacred function of art, figurative language in the service of the human spirit.
