The Biennale presents over 45 national partecipations, over than a programme full of initiatives and fringe events, such as the Hans-Ulrich Obrist’s interviews series entitled Now Interviews.
For this edition, the Italian Pavilion proposes the exhibition AILATI. Riflessi dal futuro (AILATI. Reflections from the future) conceived by Luca Molinari, who, during the 3rd edition of the festival of Contemporary art, anticipated its themes and contents in a talk with the light-designer Mario Nanni and the architects Roberta Bandini and Gabriele Lelli. Divided in ten thematic areas, AILATI, means to be an assessment of the past ten years of Italian architecture, but also to put on the stage the “hot” subjects of tomorrow in this discipline, by means of the works of our history’s great masters who, nowadays, represent our country.
Among them Lelli Associati architettura/Cristofani & Lelli architetti, curators of the sets for the festival of Contemporary art since its first edition, will present the Residenze "Fornace del Bersaglio" of Faenza. Mario Nanni curates the light design of the Italian Pavilion confronting his experience with Luca Molinari and the designers Francesco Librizzi and Salotto Buono to get the right light for the temporal and spatial tale of AILATI.
Mario Nanni, creator of "padiglione Via...ggiando" (a mobile pavilion with which the festival in partnership with Viabizzuno began in 2009 the Via...ggiando tour visiting the contemporary art European capitals),has indentified in the point, the line, the pattern and the space the basics of light in his project; these elements scan the space and tell it, becoming narrative and comunicative.
