Naming ceremony of the Aula Magna to the master Ghumbert di Cattolica

Taormina. Was held at the Istituto comprensivo di Taormina 1 directed by Carla Santoro, in the presence of a large audience, the naming ceremony of the Aula Magna of the Istituto Comprensivo 1 of Taormina, the master Ghvmbert of Catholic (a.k.a. Umberto Martorana), author of splendid murals that adorn the room. The event, already programmed and organized by time, began with the fateful tricolour ribbon cutting by Louise Greco, Member of the Board of the Institute. Thereupon with lightning gesture was discovered the plaque, bearing the name of GHVMBERT di CATTOLICA, in front of a large audience, with a warm ovation, applauded Ghumbert and contemplated, with admiration, murals made. The ceremony continued with the intervention of the Director of the Istituto comprensivo di Taormina 1 , Carla Santoro, who reiterated his esteem and his gratitude to master for the opera performed with remarkable mastery on the wide walls of the Assembly Hall of the Institute. "Few people – explained the Executive Education – donate their art without any remuneration to an institution and, least of all to the school, that among his tasks was also to educate and sensitize the beautiful in art the younger generations. Ghumbert's painting is like a wonderful journey through the colour, with the warm tones of the Sun of our Sicily and landscapes that were ably represented in the walls of the Hall ". Three students of the Istituto comprensivo di Taormina 1 , Sara Manfrida, Susanna Caruso and Andrea Bambara, played the role of hostess, reading teacher's curriculum vitae that, at the end of the event, was given the “Silver Brush”. The event had the approval of the municipal Adviser Pina Raneri, stepped in as delegated by the Mayor Eligio Giardina and always very present in the activities of the school, which helps with ideas and initiatives. Moving the greeting and thanking the master Ghumbert of Cattolica that, during these years at school, was appreciated and valued by everyone for his artistic and human skills. The collection of paintings of Corrado Cagli, which first adorned the walls of the Hall, makes a fine show in the Bureau for years become "Sala Cagli, where are held securely and are admired by everyone on a daily basis, parents, students, school staff and also foreign visitors, as happened during the last years, thanks to the" Comenius "Project activated by direct school brilliantly from Carla Santoro.
