In the prestigious “AULA MAGNA” (great Hall) , "GHVMBERT of CATTOLICA" of the "ISTITUTO COMPRENSIVO 1 TAORMINA", on, Tuesday, June 09, were awarded the prizes for the CONTEST "GHVMBERT CATTOLICA PAINTING AWARD".
102 participants, eight prizes divided thus: the first two, two seconds, two thirds and two special mentions, and sixty-four certificates of participation.
For the primary school, the prizes were awarded:
1 place: Louis C, classified 2: Jade Puglia, 3 place: Francesca Ferrari, special mention to Alessandro Saeed for composition and color balance. 32 drawings were chosen on 62.
For the secondary school Degree, prizes were awarded:
1 place: Francesca Gentile, classified 2: Alessandra Iglesias, 3 place: Matilde Mirisciotti, special mention to Tatiana Davis for drawing and skill in perspective. The participants were 30.
President of jury: Maestro Ghumbert di Cattolica, assisted by Professor Mimma Cundari. All designs were voted by the pupils of the class participant in the contest, for greater impartiality.
Praise goes to the head teacher, Prof.ssa Carla Santoro, who, with his usual skill, was able to seize the opportunity to bring competition to the world pupils of painting and art in General. In his speech illustrated the importance that the Visual arts have for the growth of our intellectual and mental balance. Prof.ssa Mimma Cundari also collaborated with enthusiasm to the project.
Maestro Ghumbert di Cattolica encouraged students to give increasing importance to pictorial art, incentive to widen cultural horizons and fantasy. The painting helps to recreate the design and colors what we love, immortalandolo State forever alive but also can express all that is concealed in our inner self, releasing what has most marked and brings us to a State of emotional and psychological well-being in which the individual is able to use his cognitive abilities or emotional. The sign that track the white sheet is the first step in a journey that involves us in a crescendo of emotions and feelings of satisfaction with the result.
The main hall was packed by students, lecturers and some family members. The ceremony had a musical start; two students have entered the accordion playing one and the other a clarinet, with verve and skill.
