"(Stefano Isabella)
"Scriptures and endless hidden mappings" (mixed media on canvas paper - 180 x 90 cm) of Antonella Nardi: the intention is to investigate the natural memories through matter and its transformation and see the understanding of being fragments. The cards, coal, inks, pigments, the study of the processes, the folding of the cards, the chiaroscuro treatment, fluid pigmentations and then the gesture. A work on paper relined canvas, which, when folded, forms a lattice simplified scheme which is producing what we might call "inner topographies." The hand is working to map and to fill endless entries possible mappings of articulated pathways.
"To love sweets" (2014) by Giuliana Silvestrini: the theme is looking carefully at those gestures aware / unaware that we do when we are in a tense context and / or difficulty or otherwise interacting with other human beings. The same difficulty of the child who is learning to read, which evokes in us moments of pleasure and pain in the face to see the first steps toward knowledge. The intensity of the gestures and movements is accentuated by a closer view of the camera on the details of the body, which focuses the intention introspective artist and his research on the themes of identity and relationship with the other.
Antonella Nardi was born in 1973 in Rome. He studied graphic arts at the Castaldi IPSIA and painting techniques at the "School of Ornamental Arts" in Rome. Specialized in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Rome, he attended the School of Gianfranco Notargiacomo. He has participated in numerous group exhibitions and art residences including: Romance 2 Gallery of Art Temple University Rome, curated by Tiziana Musi; "Art for WWF", Foundation Museum Luciana Matalon Milano, auction curated by Alessandro Paolo Mantovani; Affordable Art Fair Rome, AOP Project, MACRO "The Pelanda" by Guido D'Angelo; "Emerging Artists for the Environment", Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, curated by IERAN.
Giuliana Silvestrini, graduated in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, is expressed in painting in an "informal"; sculptures / installations, in dialogue with painting, are found traces of time, minimal stories, memories and identity. Attentive to the "recovery", using old clothes, fishing nets in disuse, old pots and fragments of dry bread. Currently it uses different media, from video to sound processing, in neo-conceptual art, which in a space / time tends to the founding principle of "open work." He has participated in national and international exhibitions.
