The scholarship is named after his friend and colleague Rolando Fava, who has dedicated his life to the work as a photojournalist. He worked as head of the "photographic" at the agency ANSA, where he made among others the famous photograph of the discovery of the corpse of Hon. Killed Aldo Moro by the Red Brigades, and Graffiti where he was responsible for the training of new photographers. His lectures have always been characterized by its strong personality, the passion with which he spoke about his profession and the enthusiasm that has managed to convey to the students.
The competition is an important opportunity to enhance the photographic reportage inspired by the social issues, to give greater visibility to this aspect of photography and to promote the emergence of new professionals.
The day Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the headquarters of GRAFFITI Via Latina n. 515 - Rome - the only juror, the renowned Magnum Agency photographer - PAUL PELLEGRIN, after reviewing the fourteen projects submitted for the Scholarship Graffiti - "Rolando Fava" First Edition 2012 - in its sole and absolute discretion, has decided to award the following prizes:
Joint first prize (two winners): Scholarship abroad. The winner of the competition will have flight Rome-Lima / Peru re transfers, accommodation, meals and assistance 7/10 days to make a photographic work on an important cooperation project in Peru.
