The department of culture and events City of Garlate, in collaboration with the Association Roberta Smedili - Project "Roberta's smile for Unicef" and with the support of UNICEF Provincial Committee of Lecco is organizing a painting competition open to artists premises. The competition aims to:
1) the enhancement of local artists, particularly young people, the Lecco area.
2) the participation of the winning works in charity auction for UNICEF Project for the children of Gaza
3) the dissemination of knowledge of cultural and artistic contexts winners in national and international.
They held two categories: ADULTS and YOUNG UNDER 30.
The jury will select 2 works for each category as winners of the competition.
The winning works will be donated to the Association Roberta Smedili to participate in charity auction held in Milazzo (ME) on 28/29/30 May 2012 and the proceeds will be donated to the UNICEF project "Helping children to rebuild a future Palestinian ".
The competition is open to all those who have a passion for painting without limitations of age, while then being grouped in two categories above.
The competition is divided into five phases:
1) Registration for the competition (by e-mail to culturaesport@comune.garlate.lc.it by Saturday, March 10 (by completing the application form downloadable from the site www.comune.garlate.lc.it)
2) Delivery of the work by Friday, March 23 at the town of Garlate - Office Secretary.
3) selection of works by the jury and announcement of winners by April 15, 2012.
4) Enter the winning entries in Milazzo Roberta Smedili by the Association for participation in charity auction.
5) Public exhibition of all works entered in the competition with a recognition ceremony on the occasion of the Feast of the courts ^ XXI Garlate (8/9 September 2012)
All participants in the competition can deliver the work carried out by any technique (oil, acrylic, watercolor, tempera) and the same goes for the support (canvas, paper, wood, etc ...).
The frames are not indispensable in the case of surfaces on canvas or wood, in the case instead of watercolor / tempera on paper or cardboard is preferable that the same have the frame with glass protection of the paintings, being very sensitive to the eventual transport.
The size of the paintings may not exceed the following: 60-70 x 80-100 cm.
The work can be produced individually or collectively.
Entries may not have been awarded prizes in other competitions and should be made only for this contest.
Each participant may compete with one work.
The winning works will not be delivered to their owners, but the same will ensure the public exhibition to be held in September during the Feast of the courts, as part of the competition.
The works regularly arrive in the competition will be judged by industry experts with criteria based on: technique, style, vision and visual composition.
They are part of the jury chaired by Valentina Dominici: representatives of the local culture, representatives of institutions, representatives of UNICEF and the Association Roberta Smedili, art critics.
The opinion of the jury's decisions are final.
There are no cash prizes.
