FACES , STORIES , TALES FOR PICTURES .

The days , the seasons , the stories of a lifetime are the moments of the past linked to the city , the people along the sidewalks of the suburbs, the windows of the old streets and old faces that meet between the tables of a cafe, in the avenues , squares .
And this from the " slow walking " becomes a place of memory , of meetings, of the breath of a humanity which belongs to the history of a neighborhood , a microcosm of situations, of
a daily life deeply lived and experienced as symbol and essence of living , I remember voices, gestures , greetings and looks just mentioned in the shadows of the evening.
And they are the eyes of the Balon , second-hand dealers and men on the doors of shops, a corner of life that invariably emerges in markets with stalls crammed with objects , with the desire to be there and find each other.
And they are the eyes of the portraits of James Sampieri , taken by the characters of Balon , an area that goes from the Arsenal of Peace to the Roman Quarter , the San Bottega Giors , with the painters of the Piedmont school , and at the Temporary Art Cafe Pastis Piazza Emanuele Filiberto with the creativity of emerging artists ' I I exhibit . "
In this multi-ethnic environment has developed the speech of Sampieri , the meaning of his research , attention to expressions , characters , gestures that define the personality , the role , the report of his figures with their lives everyday .
There is in the "tables" the climate of the real world and commitment to the work , of small businesses , a society that demands its own dimension able to redeem events sometimes difficult , from a forced exclusion.
And Sampieri renewed from time to time the deep sense of belonging that unites the teacher Gianni Milan to Andrea with the military clothing store , the Bar Trattoria da Elvira Angiolina which is the emblem of Balon , transport to Gianni Santino modernism in via Borgo Dora .
Each of them emerges strongly from the canvas in astonishment and surprise, between the restaurateur Mario and Emiliano (which seems an actor) with the dog Ugo , in a sort of narrative that the section of the fixed line with incisive skills , with the ability to define the image of Anna and those of Gino , Beppe , Antonina , Nino , Vivina , Donato , Carla 's Bar Roma and Monica 's daughter " surveyor ."

Sampieri came into full harmony with the universe , it has drawn from feelings, emotions , anxieties , hopes, unexplored intimacy.
Each scene is painted with a natural reserve , with a deliberate and thoughtful expressive measure , where wrinkles, unkempt beards , eyes veiled with sadness, are moments of a vision that is marked by street lights and in the procession of a woman with a cigarette between his fingers, against the backdrop of the houses of via Borgo Dora .
The portraits of Sampieri and at the same time are telling document of a season in which art is not only installations, photographs processed , recycled , but also and still no sign , color, communication of a truth perhaps never revealed.
