Quartet at The Coach House Gallery & Deans Place, Alfriston, East Sussex.
Four local artists are coming together for the first time to exhibit their work in the delightful village of Alfriston, nestling in the heart of the Sussex Downs. The venue, originally an 18th Century stable, and now The Coach House Gallery, provides an exciting and dynamic space for this diverse show.

Maggie Edwards uses oils, acrylics, chalk and watercolour to capture the passionate nature of our local sea and landscapes. Penelope Oakley uses acrylics, charcoal and gold leaf, creating hauntingly transcendent images. Amanda Lawrence sculpts and then paints tiny, exquisitely observed birds, and Pippa Burley sculpts boldly sensitive and thought provoking sculptures of the human form.

A sneak preview of their work will also be showcased from 4th July until 18th August at Deans Place in Alfriston. This prestigious 14th Century manor house, rich in comfort and history, boasts substantial hospitality areas for large or small groups, an enticing restaurant, and beautiful grounds. The show will also be sponsored by Amber's Florist, Seaford and Chestnuts Tea Rooms, Alfriston, who will be providing visual delights and tasty morsels at the Private View.

The exhibition, aptly named Quartet, will be running from Saturday 19th July to Sunday 18th August, 10am to 5.30 pm, with the Private View on Friday 18th July from 6 until 9pm.
