After the success of staff in Lisbon, Daniel Fortuna returns to Italy with the fantasy world of LUCKILY that makes a stop in Udine (Gallery Arttime) 10 to 20 March 2012. Not just an exhibition, but an opportunity to feel sensations ... The magic of timeless places, meeting bizarre characters and unexpected fragments of real situations and surreal elements that blend into a space where the impossible becomes possible.
15 works that comprise a visual and visionary absolutely engaging, inviting the public not to be a passive spectator, but an "actor" capable of activating a personal communication with the works, which take shape through a painstaking assembly of pieces of wood shaped and glazed with vibrant colors and kaleidoscopic.
Fortunately, the exhibition's title, also contains homonymous with the name of the artist that is not random but wants to emphasize the fun aspect that characterizes the attitude of Daniel Fortune in his life and his art, always playful, bubbly and vivacious, but never frivolous or taken for granted. And then the good fortune of those who can risk putting into play and that, in the most common, seen as good luck, we all constantly beg and they often identify with success icons and symbols of power or mocked depending idolized by the artist circumstances.
The layout was chosen so that the works are able to communicate as best as possible, sometimes using an unusual type of presentation, but probably more effective. Peek, poke, be fascinated by these fantasy worlds, this is the advice to approach this artist and his works. The intention is to send! Messages of, feelings, fears, hopes, or simply the joy of living, there is all this and more in this magical encounter, where absurd characters greet the public and lead him in a dream to discover what lies behind a trivial wall, inside a box spiky in the back of our uncontrollable imagination.
The peculiarity of the works of Daniel Fortune is also given by the particular technique used in that his paintings are composed of wooden dowels, colored and assembled like a puzzle, after a methodical and painstaking paint and jagged. The natural material is handled, processed, up to look like something else.
