Stefan Schwabe is a German visual artist whose artwork takes the form of interaction-concepts and kinetic sculptures combining art and design, questioning what we feel as natural or artificial, in both a literal and a philosophical sense. He is spending the month of July at the Siena Art Institute as a visiting artist thanks to a residency offered through the Celeste Prize, the renowned international art prize he was selected from as a finalist for the 2011 “Installation/Sculpture” section with the work “TROBLION". After graduating from high school and the following periods of civilservice and internships, Stefan enrolled at Burg Giebichenstein, University of Art and Design Halle/ Germany in 2004, where he followed classes in Multimedia and Product Design and he graduated in 2010. He exhibited "Episureo" at the Ars Electronica Festival in 2008, "Cut and Paste" at the Uncharted exhibition in Istanbul in 2009 and "Troblion" at the Kernel Festival in Desion/ Italy in 2011. This year he completed the MA course of Design Interactions at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London.
