This small exhibition features the artwork of Amir Zanjani who has participated in the the Siena Art Institute semester program since August 2012, as a scholarship recipiant through the Celeste Prize network. During the past 3 months, his work has included painting, photography, and mixed media projects exploring and responding to his surroundings in Siena.
Amir is a contemporary painter from Tehran, Iran. He obtained his B.A. in Painting from Azad University and his M.A. from the Tehran Art University, a
nd is now a professor of painting at the University of Science and Culture in Tehran. He was a Celeste Prize finalist in 2011 and he has participated in group exhibitions in Iran, the United Arab Emirites, the United States, and Oman. He had two solo exhibitions at the Mah Art Gallery in Tehren, and was also invited to Stroganov University in Moscow to give a lecture about Persian Painting. Earlier this fall, he exhibited a selection of mixed-media paintings at the Museo del Tartufo in San Giovanni d'Asso as part of the exhibition "Arte e Grand Tour nelle Crete Senesi."
The artwork will be on display at the Siena Art Institute from Tuesday evening through Thursday night.
