Visiting artist at the Siena Art Institute for the month of June, Julie Evans is a visual artist from New York City, who has exhibited her paintings and drawings extensively in both the US and abroad. Her work has been reviewed in The New York Times, ARTFORUM, Art In America, TimeOut New York, The New Yorker, Art on Paper, Flash Art, and elsewhere. Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Julie Saul Gallery in NYC, John Davis Gallery in Hudson, NY, and The Baum Gallery at the University of Central Arkansas, as well as group shows at Danese Gallery, Brattleboro Museum of Art, Lesley Heller Workspace, The Weatherspoon Art Museum, Wave Hill, Daniel Weinberg Gallery, and McKenzie Fine Art. She is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship to India, as well as residency fellowships to MacDowell, Yaddo, Ucross, Millay, and Tamarind Institute. Her work is included in over 200 international public and private collections, including The Rubin Museum of Art, US Art in Embassies Program, Microsoft, Progressive Corporation, JP Morgan-Chase, and Pfizer Inc. Evans currently lives and works in Hudson, NY.
