Rosalba Leonardi "Percorso Ma-Donna"

On October 1 the Palace of the Dukes of Santo Stefano, was inaugurated the exhibition by Rosalba Leonardi with emblematic title "Distance Ma-Donna".
The exhibition is part of the "Tribute to Taormina," a rich, diverse and prestigious range of events throughout the winter, conceived and organized by "ART & CULTURE TAORMINA," a project that sees a hundred artists Taormina - by birth, adoption, choice of life and love ... - come together for the first time under one umbrella to provide to the City, and its guests, a series of performances, concerts and exhibitions of great ranging from October to next April.
And it just touched Rosalba Leonardi, artist present until 27 November to Syracuse in the "Sicilian Pavilion" at the Venice Biennale, sign the big debut of "TRIBUTE TO TAORMINA" and exhibit in the fourteenth century palace, home of the "Fondazione Mazzullo," the its work until 29 October: an artistic journey of over 30 works, created over the past 15 years, that are attracting strong emotions and recognition in many visitors and art enthusiasts who attend Taormina.
In art, the invention of a technique in itself has little value unless it corresponds to the personal need for expression of the artist. In the case of Rosalba Leonardi, the invention of "concretions" is an innovation of the language that is not only the identity of his creative career, but a "continuum" in the history of Italian art after the cuts of Lucio Fontana and Mimmo Rotella's torn. Is the vision, the act of seeing, at the base of this artistic action, a look not as a form of contemplation, but of actively taking possession.
Rosalba Leonardi draws what is visible to all, a real world or imagined, articulated in signs and colors of the glossy pages of magazines or in the most austere religious images and re-invents the existence in a new world, created with great patience and uncommon "visionary". The "concretions" are clipped, pasted, decontextualized, subjected to constant metamorphosis that cancel the recognition of images and create reports and color composition, dimensional and material effects. The overall result is a new image, a metaphor of the world, a world that is told through images or search popular, sacred or profane, or arcane recognizable.
The principle of the artist's research is to challenge conventions and overturn the rules, in some cases, paradoxically, his works are more real than reality intending to document, bringing to light the issue piecemeal and fragmented, torn and tearing of a universe chaotic and often incommunicable. With a "zap" vision without end, Rosalba Leonardi invent new spaces, not only for the process that underlies his work, but because of the deep conceptual path that supports them. So the artist drags along the paths of art forms and figures that take "concrete", a new aesthetic dimension as well as existential. Marcel Duchamp, with Picasso the true revolutionary of '900. he liked to say that "if an artwork does not cause a shock to realize it is not worth it." Now she, through her mental radar, has successfully established a mark that is well antipittorico dynamic firm with the lesson of the avant-garde and postavanguardie.
