Michele Mereu
me myself and I
Me myself and I is the diary for a day strategic ordinary starring Michael Mereu or better - in a kaleidoscopic explosion of plural identities - his though, his self, his ego, observed, chased and derided from Mereu-Artist that, clear, is not assimilable and superimposable to any of its individual identity because, according to an axiom dear to Gestaltpsychologie, the function of the parts are determined by the organization of the whole and, therefore, the latter, can not be reduced to the simple sum of its components, whether the me, myself or I individual Mereu that of Mereu-Artist, will never have the complexity.
Moreover, the Identity in the age of fragmentation and / or crushing of, of being and non-being, or being one, no one and one hundred thousand, Identity and Identity multiple, interchangeable and indefinable , ambiguous and elusive in relation to distinctions and hierarchies of society, or vice versa, related to the experiences of the individual identity of the schizoid and reassembled, the identity of the loan or loan of Identity, is now, and could not be otherwise, given the implications of social and individual, one of the most important issues, the most controversial and, necessarily, the most debated within contemporary art.
In this context and in relation to temporality defined yet accidental and contingent, Michael Meredith, the artist, in a delirium narcissistic, self-centered and self-referential contemporary at all, it offers the viewer as a creature or multiple, consisting of plural entities and interchangeable that may present itself, not copyrighted, and autonomous operations in a variety of artistic, assembled and connected, in fact, on a day extravagant, made "likely" the usual and reassuring rituals of everyday life and "unlikely" to be a dreamlike, surreal and disturbing , a day that requires a suspension of judgment, a special day, punctuated by reflections, doubling and hyperbolic nonsense, a day in which it is easier to find themselves lost.

me myself and I
"I really like that in a work of art you find yourself transposed at the level of character, the subject of the work itself, in comparison with the case of the" portrait "which is the first, to put the second 'en abyme '». (Andre Gide)
Starting from the famous formulation of the concept of mise en abyme proposed by André Gide, Michael Meredith tells himself, with a curious and provocative project called Me Myself and I, through a sinking identity, revives the plots of moments past and present, real or just imagined, in which the artist becomes the container and contents of an artistic space total in which tangible is the need to open up unexplored semantic fields.
The medium chosen for the project is photography, an instrument that within contemporary art is characterized more as a carrier of meanings that go beyond the actual data, photographs that the artist can, manipulating, upload from time to time values R03;R03;and ambiguous concept, capable of revealing the underwater world / around us.
The classic question, ie what should be the role of the artist (if it is true, that there is a "thing" called art, but there are artists and their works), is investigated by Mereu through this unusual project, convinced more than ever, which is preliminary to understand the role of the artist in the first place, and then what it produces, that is what is conventionally called art.
Cultured, therefore, as an opportunity to tell about trying to express his poetic using the languages R03;R03;that he was offered his time, Michael becomes the protagonist of his artistic and intellectual, even if it were a goose chase, forgotten, dark, coming out of the system "self" of art, primarily to deal with their own personal role within it.
Me, Myself and I will end with a circular day in which the author is, on the one hand the performer and the manipulator of the shots, and on the other the character re-flexed living, working, kitchen, festive appendix in which the protagonist is dedicated to the spirit in a 'survey of identity, which, far from making known, re-delivery individuality that is sucked into a magma impenetrable.
The activity imaginary and its symbolic mediations are delivered to the freedom of choice of style, freeing the system from tautologies and putting in a location of an 'intrinsic and disenchanted ethics without models.
