DIAMONDS AND RUST

Rust is one of the signs of time. Emblem of transformation and becoming, of the relentless movement of the universe, of the passages of state. Nothing can elude the great universal stream, nor the flesh of human beauty, neither iron, which constitutes the white hot nucleus of planet Earth. Silvia Anselmi elevates rust to the supreme stylistic touch, because the last finishing touch of her installations made of iron thread is given by weather. The element that corrodes and spoils becomes the stroke which gives a surplus of glamour. The corrosion of iron, symbol of hardness and invulnerability, is made by soft and ethereal elements, air and water. In this way art, the support of memory, demonstrates how things never fall into the ultimate nothing, and how they continue to exist even when they diseappear from the horizont of events.
