The work "Circles" Venetian artist Magda Busetto was selected by the Society of American Mosaic Art (SAMA) for a prestigious exhibition of contemporary mosaic art, the Mosaic Arts International (MAI) to be held from 1 March to 30 April 2012 at the Lexington Center Museum and Gallery in Lexington, KY - USA: It is an annual exhibition competitions, selection of contemporary mosaic art excellence. Mosaic art, ancient origins, is currently enjoying a renaissance in: the young artists selected from some 30 countries, have used new approaches to harmonizing the use of traditional and innovative materials, as stated by Shug Jones president of the board of the Foundation SAMA.
Venetian residence and family, Magda is Busetto always been fascinated by the tradition of Mosaic Art, which boasts a tradition thousands of years in the lagoon, but the passion and inspiration came in 2005 after a trip to Australia. Back in Venice, he began to attend courses organized by the Municipality of Venice, Murano and Burano in collaboration with the Cultural Association "Italy Greece" chaired by Marino Tagliapietra, courses taught by Master Giovanni Cucco which has been around for 30 years head of team in charge of the maintenance in good condition of the mosaics of the Basilica of San Marco in Venice. Awarded Honorable Mention of the "International Award Orsoni Prize 2009", now Busetto feels his work as a means of communication and is in constant search.
