How does a contemporary artist called upon to design and implement a jewel? This is the question answered by the creations of over 28 artists, on display at the Civic Theatre of the Castle.
Opened Saturday, December 5th the exhibition "Jewelry Artist" is an artistic journey of creativity, skill and reinterpretation of traditional forms.
Curated by the Arteficio and the Foundation for Art-Bartoli Fertelcon sponsored by the City of Cagliari, the exhibition brings together the work of skilled craftsmen are able to reinterpret the contemporary gem and create unique and original.
From colorful necklaces and "space" to pins "bon-bon", from pendants with stones and ceramic buttons, all the creations on display are able to blend ancient and modern, through the use of unexpected materials and combinations.
Bottle caps, shards, wire, plastic, electrical cables, cards stagnolee many other technological materials and the recovery approach, taking new and unexpected ways, with old buttons, beads, mother of pearl, lace and fabrics, giving rise to jewels of extraordinary contemporaneity.
On the occasion of the exhibition also visible all day until 8 January 2010 (from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 17.00 to 20.00), you can buy the creations on display. Part of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to the Italian Red Cross delegation of Cagliari.
