LIVING IN A BUBBLE

curated by Elena Abbiatici and Valentina G. Levy

PERFORMANCE
21 June - 6.30 p.m.

Label201, via Portuense 201, Roma

Everything - talking, walking, sleeping, discovering – taking place in a bubble. The bubble as a space of nomadic life, a refuge of one's true identity, and the discovery of the other.R32; A place of affection, an architectural structure of security to take wherever you have the need for a home.
Through these works the artist encourages viewers and participants to explore the 'other', knowing that without each other we cannot be.
Ana Rewakowicz has travelled from one country, culture, language to another, from her native Poland to Canada where she currently resides. She has chosen the bubble as a means of sharing her proper home with others.R32;R32;
For over 10 years the artist has produced mobile inflatable objects of various kinds, differing in material, size, wearability and habitability. Pieces which involve the audience and focus on experience, evoking a meditation on the progressive increase of mobility that we witness and partake in today.
Her Dressware and Inflatables sculptures are transportable architectures, mobile environments, social spaces of shared thought and reflection. Ways of knowing, epistemological possibilities, delicate architectures of affection, made of latex rubber, polyvinyl, polyurethane. R32;R32;The challenge is to find comfort in these inflatable clothes; they can become an echo, a mirror of understanding and inquiry into the stranger that lives within us.
During the evening of June 21, in addition to the presentation of some of Ana’s Dressware works, the public will be involved in a performance.

With the patronage of
