PRESS RELEASE
SPECIAL EVENT: BOOK PRESENTATION OF THE BOOK "CARO AMICI MIEI" BY FABRIZIO BORGHINI & JACOPO NESTI (NTE Edizioni)

Friday, September 12, 2014 at the exhibition space Via Cavour 85 of Arezzo (via Cavour 85) at 6PM the book “Caro Amici Miei” of Fabrizio Borghini and Jacopo Nesti (NTE Edizioni) will be presented.
The book reconstructs the genesis of the very famous film of Mario Monicelli that he inherited from another great master of the cinema: Pietro Germi. Others would have had to be the protagonists of the story, that in the phase of writing, was located in Bologna; among these, Marcello Mastroianni playing the role of the Count Mascetti, Raymond Vianello personifying the professor Sassaroli and Sarò Urzì, and one of the favorite actors of Germi, dressing up in the used clothing of the pensioned Righi.
Germi, by now next to the end, passed the script to Monicelli who transferred the story of the five loafers to Florence, replacing Mastroianni with Philippe Noiret, Urzì with Bernard Blier and Vianello with Adolfo Celi.
The real scoop of the authors was the discovery of the identity of the five friends: likewise unexpected professionals living a double life: utmost integrity in family and jokers out of the boundaries of the house.
The book concludes with a kind of will of Mario Monicelli who speaks - probably for the last time in his life - of what he thinks of the actors, of the cinema, of family, of politics.
At the presentation will be present Fabrizio Borghini noted journalist and television conductor of the transmission “Incontri con l'Arte” on Toscana TV and director of the monthly magazine “La Toscana.”

The exhibit will proceed, at free entrance, until Friday, September 19, 2014, with the following hours: Monday from 6pm to 8pm, Tuesday to Friday, from 4am to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 8pm. It is a great honor for Via Cavour 85 to present Tetsuji Endo for his first official solo exhibition in Italy. Since 2006, he has studied and worked as a painter and decorator in Tuscany. Profound dreamer, Endo is an eclectic artist, free, without limits, of which his fantasy oscillates between traditional Italian themes, inspired by great Renaissance artists to his greatly loved Japanese culture, to which he continues to pay homage.
A ray of sunshine along with an intrinsic kindness, the artist is gifted with a theatrical vision, which he developed as a scenographic painter in Japan from 2002 to 2005, at the Shinbashi Theater and the National Theater of Japan in Tokyo. His love for classical oil painting and for the Italian Renaissance brought him to Arezzo in 2006. The following year, Endo decided to transfer definitely to Italy to deepen his knowledge and understanding in art.
Amongst the works on exhibition created in the past years, we note female and male portraits, a series of particularly interesting figure studies in movement and combat, paintings of heterogeneous interiors and exteriors, landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes, where we may note elegance and pleasing colors, sometimes with clear influence of the great Macchiaoli. The highlight of the solo exhibition is the Japanese armor Ooyoroi, tribute from the artist to his land of origin.

As Yuki Ishida describes with intuition in the catalogue, “The poetry and lyricism evoked by the works of Tetsuji Endo transmit to the observer, how strong the tie is to the Occidental painting tradition, in particular to the Italian manner, so dear to the artist that he has made the objective of his art, the means to celebrate and conduct his artistic and human message of great masters of Italian painting from the XIV century onwards, although, without denying the culture and Japanese spirit profoundly withheld in his works.”

Brief biography:
Tetsuji Endo was born in Chiba (Japan) September 21, 1977. He graduated in 2002 from the prestigious University of Art Musashino bijutsu Daigaku in Tokyo with a specialization in oil painting.
After receiving his diploma, he taught classes in oil painting at the Institute Funabashi bijutsu Yobikou. In the same period, he realized works of sculpture and mural decoration and interiors.
From 1999 to 2002 he accomplished stagings and promoted exhibits in Japanese art galleries.
From 2002 to 2005 he worked as a scenographic painter at the Shinbashi Theater and the Japanese National Theater of Tokyo, driven by the desire to know better the Japanese culture.
In 2006, after studying in an in-depth way Italian art and culture, he decided to transfer to Italy, country which he had always been fascinated and inspired by, where he began working as a decorator of interiors and realizing paintings for private clients.
The artist, by way of his artistic experience developed in Italy, desires to express his actual identity of a man profoundly Japanese.
