Education, traditions and culture of each country leave some "tracks" in the personality of the individual, the greater the strength of the traditions of a place, the more profound will be the traces.
And here is that Japan, a country so far and fascinating island devoted to the sacredness of its traditions and at the same time the vanguard among the most modern in the world, makes us know by artists traits typical of their land: sensitive, shy, with a great respect for others and above all, a deep privacy of their emotions.
Emotions and feelings that never for cultural and educational tradition in fact, they would like to express in words and then translate into images, shapes and colors.
It's strange how the words of Sciascia referring to the Sicilians "supremely timid extremely reckless" can be, in my opinion, apply to the Japanese people: strong, reserved and shy, but able to rebuild with what perseverance nature with its strength destructive (earthquakes, tsunami, volcanic eruptions) has taken away from them over the centuries.
This same strength is found in the works of the artists presented in this exhibition. It is a force not hot-tempered and flaunted but gentle, and internalized, reduced to essentials, where tradition and innovation alternate poetically and in which the authors make us the precious gift of a part of their soul.
Will be presented the works of nine Japanese artists strongly representative of the trends in Japan and coming from the exhibition "Isole contemporanee", held in July in Taormina (Sicily) collaborative development effort from Dr. Chie Yoshioka and local Fondazione Mazzullo.
The exhibition will also be the opportunity for a performance of Japanese pictorial art and a workshop.
