In 1722 the region comes to his son, of the same name, along with John Ortiz Leite de Camargo, on July 26, 1727, built the Chapel of Santana as a landmark for the town of Santana, only on July 25, 1732 was installed officially, the name of Vila Boa Goiaz. On the same date was raised and created the Pelourinho District, naming himself Antonio Dias da Silva Ferreira and Antonio de Brito its first judges. Created is also the Board with the appointment of Thomas de Souza and Antonio Garrido Marzagão for councilmen, Miguel Carlos Lopes to the Registrar and Prosecutor for Zedes. All appointments were made by the Hon. Mr. Judge Mascarenhas, General (Governor) of the Captaincy of São Paulo.
On November 8, 1744 the County Goiaz emancipates itself from Sao Paulo, becoming the Captaincy General, with the capital Vila Boa. On September 17, 1818 the Secretary of State for the Empire, by ordinance, raise the category of Vila Boa City, under the name City of Goyaz and create your city as Capital of the Province of Goiaz. On March 23, 1937 ceases to be capital, the transfer of government to Goiânia.
