The City of Cassano d'Adda presents Ecoismi2012, a contemporary art event which takes place in the Natural Park of the Island Borromeo.
The common thread of Ecoismi 2012 is between man and nature.
The review involves the construction of No. 12 (twelve) site-specific works in complete harmony with the area of the park.
ECOISMI 2012's leitmotiv is the binomial man and nature.
The exhibition schedules the realization of twelve (n° 12) artistic works in full harmony with the identity of the Natural Park area. ECOISMI 2012 wants to be a meeting point between contemporary culture and the deep roots of territory. The at works realized have to be able to create a natural and osmotic relationship between art, the environmental and cultural context, and the identity of local site and will have an aesthetic and cognitive value, regarding processes and changes that concern the environment and the present human condition. ECOISMI wants to promote and activate opinions and thoughts on ecological and sustainable dynamics.
The goals:
- Increase and improve the value of the local territory and its natural resources;
- Safeguard of historical memory and territorial identity;
- Knowledge and development of typical resources of territory;
- Promotion of contemporary artistic languages;
- Promotion, knowledge and development of artistic expressions of young generations;
- Activation and promotion of debate between the artists and the population (resident, students, foreign and tourists);
- Transport messages related to the environmental sustainability through different art forms.
The open call is free, is open to artist of all nationalities aged up to 35 (born after January first 1977). Each candidate can participate with a unique project.
The call includes a contribution of 1.000,00 euro for the realization of each project, board and accomodation for the 4 days of residence, work in progress.
