This fourth exhibition introduces artists who engage in intimate conversation with the nature around them. This endows them with the ability to generate “Other” worlds through artworks which are devoid of any unnecessary elements and easy to appreciate. Their work is condensed culture, history and human spirituality. It is the essence of our society, impoverished by a frenetic pace of life in a world which has been robbed of its beauty. Artists, observers par excellence, endure their solitude in this desolation, even as they dream of “Other” ways of living. In this exhibition, therefore, these artists display their rebellions, or, conversely, their ability to dream and show a glimpse of light to those who suffer or, worse, are already resigned. Hence why art is considered an essential human experience and food for the spirit.

Piero Conz, Cittadella (PD) 1946. Painter. Spontaneous, instinctual, fond of hand gestures, Piero embraces the impulse which pushes him to paint, and in this way shares his own emotions with the public. What characterizes his style is freedom of expression.

Alberto Cristini, Rovigo 1960. Painter and sculptor. Thin little lead men – musicians, acrobats, star chasers – uncover the essence of an inspiration which is born from within. This poetry flows directly from the artist’s innermost being, purified by his immense love for his homeland.

Barbara Furlan, Camposampiero (PD) 1972, lives in Massanzago (Padua). Barbara paints landscapes, urban environments and the interiors of houses with calculated strokes of the brush, controlled, self-assured, yet elusive – as if she were describing scenes seen from the window of a moving train.

Luigi Geremia, Castelfranco Veneto 1949, lives in Castello di Godego (Treviso). Designer. Luigi invented his own unique artistic trend, Scrap Design, which employs fragments ready to be scrapped. He succeeds in generating a creative and tasteful interaction between “the old and the new.”

Enzo Gobbo, Santa Giustina Bellunese 1943, lives in Zoldo Alto (Belluno). Painter and sculptor. With his sculptures made from cherry wood, Swiss pine and maple, Enzo seeks to represent all that evokes in him an emotion or a personal memory. He shows a profound connection with nature in his works.

Giuliana Geronazzo, Bergamo 1941, Flero (BS). Painter and sculptor. The artist tells us about mankind and the universe, about the time and beauty of plants, which she conveys mainly through glass and ceramics.

Roberto Lucato, Castelfranco Veneto (TV) 1966. Painter and musician. Roberto’s works represent “thinking men”: they offer an honest analysis of the constraints of modern-day society, which he sees as governed by “directionless power”. Through his art, Roberto seeks to re-awaken our slumbering awareness.

Antonino Nigido, Castelfranco Veneto (TV) 1972, lives in Istrana (Treviso). Painter and musician. The artist is aware of the chaos of contemporary life, but he does not feel part of it and thus re-interprets it. His dreams produce a new reality. Like a chameleon’s transformation.

Miguel Miranda Quiñones, Machu Picchu (Perù) 1956, lives in Paese (Treviso). Sculptor and restorer. Miguel mainly sculpts Andean-looking female figures interacting with horse heads and manes. For the artist, the strength of this noble animal is similar to a woman’s tenacity.

Carlo Rao, Cerda (PA), 1945, lives in Treviso. Poet, theatre writer, painter. In Carlo’s works, the explosion of colours and the carefully-researched use of materials are the central elements of a painting style which originates from the Mediterranean, from our birthplaces.

Toni Zarpellon, Bassano del Grappa, Vicenza, 1942, paintings, sculptures, installations.
As an artist Tony is intensively active. His paintings and drawings are characterised by sharp, gouging strokes, which reflect his constant tension. His aim is to breach new openings into the human mind. The models’ faces he portrays capture the existential suffering of an entire generation.
