Seon Mee Moon keeps in its production a poetic concept, which- accompanied by a very personal artistic stroke- gives her the possibility to entrust into a complete artistic & narrative vision their characters. Moon remembers Botero into the volumes, round and full, but in which we can also found an element of caricature(..)like in the artworks of Honoré de Balzac and George Grosz that she cleverly uses for a figurative and ironic narration. His oils introduce us to the characters, mainly couples or small groups, that occupy with their physicality almost all the available space. Moon gives us a humanity ( as in Balzac 's Comédie Humaine ) (...)but,as into a story of the brothers Andersen, not always the fairytale world is bearer of serenity. Despite the pastel colors, the tract clean, through the figures of Moon moves something disturbing : the use of green, the couples who oscillate between the shy and distrust (...)
Moon works in oil, both on canvas and using the wooden Box containers she created to enclose the characters in environments from the horizons even more restricted (...)
