Day of the Dead is a feast to Cupilco , the day when the dead come down from heaven to meet with the family , eat dinner with them , be updated on events that have affected the community and maybe give practical advice . A feast , a feast . A Cupilco not profess to finalisms , simply switches the existence between earth and heaven thanks to the service of the winged god of wind Eh- écatl . Eliazar Hernandez Arias born and work in the village of Tamulté de las Sabanas , near Cupilco , in southern Mexico . There, where the high and low melt, Eliazar discovered the art of painting , first comales ( earthenware dishes ), then tele , so big walls , even the huge water tank of the state capital of Tabasco , Villahermosa. There he learns the language of magic realism , not the twentieth century , metaphysical , played in Europe , such as the return to order but that of the pre-Hispanic tradition , prophetic and wisdom through knowledge . Suspended between myth and faith , his work is nourished by collective memory , reworks the aesthetic credo of civil and an industrious people and updated. It gives life, under the critical eye of senior citizens, murals narrative of facts not great but felt and participated , such as the construction of a bridge or a temple to the Virgin. In the works on canvas prevails suggestion folkloric characterized by strong sign , sinuously Baroque and bright colors. There are naturalistic and decorative corn fields and platanales , but religious themes predominate : a Golgotha between the banana plantations and the Gulf of Mexico in the background , a visionary image of the Father on a log gigantic ceiba , a procession of farmers who raise their torches votive , a Virgin with wreaths of glare and heat radiation that seem mystical fireworks. In the Day of the Dead , November 2 , the truest manifestation of Mexico deep, in a UNESCO intangible heritage of humanity, Eliazar is contributing artwork and participates in the construction of the altar of marigolds , before taking the flight to Milan and oversee the staging of the show, in particular the installation of an " altar de muertos " , the small family buildings , made of fruit , corn, flowers, wood , tortillas and tamales , aguardiente and pozol and attend the inauguration of 5 November.
