my heart beats’ @Michelle Hold
Contemporary art exhibition with Michelle Hold and Daniela Vignati at Tenuta Tenaglia Seralunga di Crea from june 1 till september 30
Michelle Hold: ’ Red is a powerful color for me, very energizing, in fact my kitchen is painted in red to wake up.
There are moments where I love to paint in red, I need the color around me. Red is confident, ambitious and asks for attention.
It is a dominant color and does not leave much room for the others . Maybe black is one of the view that coexist very well with red and I love to use them together.
Red is the color of passionate love, seduction, violence, danger, anger and adventure. Our prehistoric ancestors saw red as the color of fire and blood, energy and primal life forces
Red is also a magical and religious color, it was as rare and as expensive as purple in ancient days and this fact may explain its magic and power.
Color is my passion and my knowledge about color comes from my experience in textile design where a small alteration of color tone can change the whole mood of a collection. My work is an exploration of abstraction, dance like gestures and the vibrations of color. Light, movement, nature, thoughts and new spirituality with scientific grounding are essential to my work. I believe that ultimately it is the energy you read in a painting , the force or on the contrary the softness of the brushstroke which captures your attention.’
